Remembering The War Doctor

The world over is saddened by the passing of John Hurt.  The British actor has over two-hundred movies and television credits to his CV.  He was an award winning actor, entertainer, and a master thespian.

Although his most iconic roles will forever keep him in the minds of fans for decades to come, Doctor Who fans will always affectionately remember John as “The War Doctor.”

Below are a few quotes that will always ring in our ears.

“Great men are forged in the fire.  It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame, whatever the cost.”

“Time Lords of Gallifrey, Daleks of Skaro, I serve notice on you all.  Too long have I stayed my hand.  No more.  Today, you leave me no choice.  Today, this war will end.  No more.  No more.”

“What I did, I did without choice.  In the name of peace and sanity.”

“Go back to to your lives.  Go and be the Doctor I could never be.”

“Never cowardly or cruel.  Never give up, never give in.”

“Oh, for God’s sake.  Gallifrey stands!”

“But for now…for this moment — I am the Doctor again.”

“I hope the ears are a bit less conspicuous this time.”
